Our current research endeavors to understand the biological, chemical and physical interactions in the surface environment. The research areas include

1. The chemical processes on the surfaces of environmental particles (including clay, oxide, black carbon and organic matter) and in micro-porous media and their roles in determining the fate and transformation of essential nutrients and inorganic and organic pollutants in soil and water

2. Plant-microbia-soil interfacial interactions and their impacts on the fate and bioavailability of essential nutrients and inorganic and organic pollutants in soil
